The South End Speaks -Our Voices Our Vote
Seattle 2025 Candidate Forum on Safety, Surveillance, and Immigration
On Tuesday October 14, Whose Streets? Our Streets brought together a powerful coalition of organizations to host a candidate forum ahead of the 2025 general election. Questions reflected the urgent issues of safety, surveillance, and immigration that are impacting BIPOC and marginalized communities across our city and beyond.
After inviting candidates running for Seattle Mayor, City Council , City Attorney , and King County Executive races, we were able to ask substantive questions and hear answers from Bruce Harrell (mayoral incumbent), Katie Wilson (mayoral candidate), Eddie Lin (council district 2 candidate), Adonis Duckworth (council district 2 candidate), Dionne Foster (council position 9 candidate), and Erika Evans (city attorney candidate). One hundred attendees packed Rainier Arts Center to be in community, learn from tabling organizations, enjoy a meal, and engage in questions with the candidates. Thank you to all who attended!
